Custom extended and threaded barrel for a Sterling SMG. Customer wanted the barrel extended
and threaded 1/2-36 in order to mount a suppressor. Note that the muzzle exit hole in the front
of the barrel shroud MUST be opened up to .515 - .520 inches to permit the threaded portion of the
barrel to pass through. We can also thread to 1/2-28.
Barrel is shown in-the-white prior to being polished and hot blued. For
reference the barrel blank shown next to it is 1-5/8" in diameter and weighs 5 pounds, 13 ounces.
At 10-3/4 ounces, the finished barrel weighs far less. More ounces of steel went into the recycle
bin than remained in the finished barrel!
